We are now two months away from stepping on a plane in Denver and getting off in LA, then stepping on a plane in LA and getting off in Fiji, then stepping on a plane in Fiji and getting off in New Zealand. At this point most of the logistics are taken care of. We have our visas, all the plane reservations and a place to stay in Auckland for a few days and Wellington for a few weeks, plus a rental car when we arrive. We have the mover arranged to ship a container full of our stuff to Wellington and reservations for our pets to travel and be quarantined. And Kelly has a job!
Almost all the logistics are taken care of but there is still a lot to do. The biggest thing is to pack up the house. I’ve started the process of changing the pet import permit to our Wellington address, but it hasn’t been issued yet. And July will mean a series of vet visits for Greta and Tiki to get the necessary vaccinations and treatments.
It doesn’t feel imminent yet, but it’s getting closer. And it is starting to feel like there’s only a limited time left to get the things done that need to be done and do the Colorado things (like taking Hopscotch to her first Rockies Yankees game yesterday) that we’ll miss.
