After all the build up we finally had the moving sale! It was a lot of preparation and a long day, but we were able to get rid of a lot excess stuff that we don’t use any more. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Somewhat surprisingly, any and all pet paraphernalia went really quickly, while most of the baby stuff was passed over. We did end up selling Hopscotch’s crib to a couple that fosters babies, so we gave them a great deal on it which felt good. We were able to sell some of the bigger items like the futon, but two of things we were hoping to sell the most, the dining room table and the treadmill, were still in the driveway when we took down the signs.
Also this week we had new carpet installed in the living room, bedroom, and Hopscotch’s room. It ended up taking an extra morning , but it’s a big improvement on what was there before and really ties the room together.
At the same time we were getting things ready for the tag sale and new carpets we were cleaning and organizing the rest of the house and yard. Yee hah. The stager came today and delivered a dining room table and chairs, a chair and table for the living room, and some wall art and pillows. It seemed overwhelming at times but I think we’ll be able to have the house in good shape. Our plan is to have the house listed on wednesday evening. Our realtor will start showing it friday and have an open house on saturday. Meanwhile, we’re going to get out of town and spend the weekend at Kelly’s aunt and uncles cabin in the mountains. It’s been a whirlwind of a week, so it’ll be nice to get a little reprieve.
