In other news, I inadvertently booked Greta and Tiki’s flight to L.A. The estimate from the pet transport company noted that often people will book their own domestic transport rather than having them book it. United has a website for their Petsafe transport service so I headed over to it to see if it would be cheaper to handle the booking myself. The site gave prices but also noted there were other charges (such as a fuel surcharge, etc.). It had a button for booking, but it just led to a form – it didn’t show available flights and didn’t ask for payment, so I figured I’d fill it out so I could get an idea of what the real cost for the flight would be. I expected them to write back with some flight options and costs, but instead I got an email confirming my booking (payment is due at check-in). The flight time is good and it’s cheaper than having the pet transport company book it. Soooo, sweet as!
