Since I only recently made the blog public, I feel like I should maybe reiterate some things I explained earlier on the chance people aren’t going back and avidly reading each and every post. So here’s what you need to know about the blog:
- Yes, Kiwibound is the best I could come up with for a name. Ask Kelly. I really couldn’t come up with anything better.
- I originally started it so we’d have a record of our move to New Zealand for our daughter, so in 12 years when Trump is done with his third term and we’re ready to return she can read it and see what it was like for us to get there. And the fact that we started the application process just as Trump was starting to rise in popularity was just a happy coincidence. A happy, happy coincidence.
- Or maybe 2b. The other main purpose of this blog is to give our family and friends as many ways to keep in touch and follow our travels as possible. And if other people are interested in information on migrating or want to follow along, that’s great too.
Ok, now that the legal mumbo-jumbo is out of the way, what happened this week? Well, I started getting some estimates from shippers – both for our stuff and for our pets. I’ll go into these more later on, but the ones we got this week have been helpful for giving us some ballpark figures. And coming up this weekend – the stager will be out to tell us we need to de-clutter like crazy and rearrange our furniture. Or so I presume.
