After finally getting Kelly’s x-ray uploaded to the system, apparently their opinion is our health is fine. I was finally able to talk to someone who knew what was going on, which was that they didn’t know what was going on. For some reason they couldn’t figure out, that my x-rays went through while hers didn’t. Kelly was in the car on Friday morning to get hers re-taken when they called to tell us that hers had finally gone through. Now that INZ finally got our x-rays in order we can go back to waiting for them to do our health assessments.
Annnnnndddd they’re done. Got a message Friday morning that Kelly’s x-ray was uploaded and Friday afternoon we got an invitation for the interview! We knew this is the next step and have been expecting it, but didn’t expect it to happen so fast. After a few emails we have it set up for 9 days from now. We’ve been prepping for a little while, getting answers ready for likely questions that have been given to us by our immigration agent and also ones that we’ve found in online forums. In case I didn’t mention it before, the interview is the decider. Since we’re applying without a job offer, I have to prove that I have a high likelihood of being able to successfully find a job and settle in NZ, with the emphasis being on finding a job. Having previously lived there and visited there, and feeling good about my job prospects, I feel like it’s obvious that I’ll be able to find a job and we can successfully settle and contribute to NZ, but convincing the case officer is what matters, and it’s definitely nerve wracking to know that the entire application rests on that.
